چکیده
This paper describes the performance analysis of a class of two-connected multihop shuf lenets , known as generalized s h u f l e networks. The topology of such networks is described mathematically b y the equation N = kn, where N is the total number of nodes in the network, k the number of stages i n the network and n the number of nodes in each stage. Compared t o classical shuf lenets , the definition of generalized shuf le networks allows a larger number of feasible network structures that are realizable for a given network size N . In attempting to find an opt imum network structure, network characteristics are discussed and system performance is evaluated. Important relationships and interdependencies among the various network parameters are developed to facilitate cross-structural comparison.

A Complexity Analysis of Smart Pixel Switching Nodes for Photonic Extended Generalized Shuffle Switching Networks
This paper studies the architectural tradeoffs found in the use of smart pixels for nodes within photonic switching interconnection networks. The particular networks of interest within the analysis are strictly nonblocking extended generalized shuffle (EGS) networks. Several performance metrics are defined for the analysis and the effect of node size on these metrics is studied. Optimum node si...
متن کاملGeneralized Shuffle - Exchange Networks : Combinatorial and Fault Tolerant Properties
Shuffle-exchange networks have been proposed as an attractive choice for interconnection networks. They have constant node degree and sublogarithmic diameter. Several researchers have studied various combinatorial and interconnection properties of them. In this paper, we generalize shuffle-exchange networks and define a new class of networks, called generalized shuffle-exchange network and deno...
متن کاملModeling and Performance Evaluation of Energy Consumption in S-MAC Protocol Using Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets
One of the features of wireless sensor networks is that the nodes in this network have limited power sources. Therefore, assessment of energy consumption in these networks is very important. What has been common practice has been the use of traditional simulators to evaluate the energy consumption of the nodes in these networks. Simulators often have problems such as fluctuating output values i...

متن کاملExtended generalized shuffle networks: Sufficient conditions for strictly nonblocking operation
Since Clos gave the first construction of a strictly nonblocking multistage interconnection network, only a few other constructions have been proposed in almost a half-century. In this paper, we introduce a constructive class of networks which utilizes crossbars of virtually any size and for which the sizes can vary from stage to stage. The interconnection between stages is a generalized shuffl...
